Inside Look: Day on the Track

As one of the co-founders of ThermApparel, I am often asked if there are any other uses for UnderCool. I always say, "Why yes there is!" My favorite way to use my UnderCool is for a track day.  A track day is when a car club rents a racetrack and teaches people to drive their cars on the track. Last Monday and Tuesday I got to experience my first track day. In a word WOW.

This all started back in December, while at Redi Imports Automotive having some routine maintenance done to my car I made a comment to the owner Ryan Lynch that liked his photo of Watkins Glen International. Ryan responded yes I am high performance driving instructor and we have a 2 day event each summer at Watkins Glen. My response I believe was yes please thank you. How do I sign up. Like all men, as a boy I dreamed of be the guy behind the wheel going 200 mph down the straightaway. Well I never quite made it to 200 but I did hit 120! What a rush it was. While on track the cars windows must be rolled down. Now one would thing at these high speeds with the no windows there would be a lot of air flow. Holy cow it got hot; it seems the air goes around the car not in the car. My UnderCool helped keep me cooler and provided some lumbar support in the set. Thank you so much to Dave my driving instructor who helped me keep my cool and my car on the track. Phoenix CMR and Redi Imports helped me check something off my bucket list.
